Bhindi Masala (Okra Curry) Recipe


Bhindi Masala
Bhindi Masala  is a popular main course vegetable curry served with Curd, Roti, Lentil and Rice.

Ingredients

3 cups bhindi(lady fingers or Okra)
1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
2.5 tbsp chopped coriander
2 tbsp coriandar-cumin seeds
2 tsp coriandar-cumin seeds powder
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp mango powder
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp asafoetida(hing)
3 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Method

1. Make long slits on the Okra.
2. Mix Coconut, Dry Coriander, Cumin seeds, Coriander seed powder, sugar, mango powder,  red chili powder, garam masala and asafoetida very well and stuff into slit Okra.
3. Put oil into the pan and arrange Okra into pan and fry it till it turns crispy.
4. Serve it with hot chapati and curd.
