Stuffed Capsicum Recipe


Stuffed Capsicum is also known as Bharva Shimla Mirch. It is a very simple recipe to make with full of stuffings in capsicum.

Ingredients

2 big capsicums for stuffing
2 small boiled potatoes finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
1 onion finely chopped
2 tbsp boiled green peas
1 big capsicum finely chopped
2-3 garlic finely chopped
2-3 small chilly finely chopped
2 tsp lemon juice
5-6 peanuts
3-4 mint leaves
1 tsp cumin seed
1/2 tsp asafoetida
2-3 curry leaves
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp dry mango powder (amchur)
1/2 tsp chaat masala
5 tsp oil
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder

Method

1. Heat frying pan with oil and slowly add the following ingredients: – cumin seeds, coriander seeds, asafoetida, peanuts, curry leaves, garlic, mint leaves.
2. As soon as they start spluttering on medium heat add chili and then chopped onion, tomatoes, potatoes and cook for 3 minutes.
3. Add amchur powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, chili powder, chaat masala. Sprinkle lemon juice on top and salt to taste.
4. Now cut the cap of the capsicum in form that it can be used as lid. Remove the seeds.
5. Apply oil from inside and add all the filling.
6. Cover it with the lid (the other half of the capsicum).
7. Use steamer vessel and steam the capsicum for 5-6 mins.
8. Serve it hot with naan, roti or rice.
