Khichu Recipe


A simple gujarati dish of rice flour cooked with spices, you can enjoy it anytime.

Ingredients

1 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1/4 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp bishopweed seeds (ajamo)
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
1/2 tsp chopped green chilli,
1/4 tsp soda bi-carb
1/4 tsp red chili powder
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste


Method

1. Finely crush green chillies, cumin seeds, bishopweed seeds in mixer.
2. Put 2 1/2 cups of water to boil in the vassal.
3. Add the crush mixure, soda bi-carb and salt and bring to a boil.
4. When water bubbling then add flour slowly over the water and mix it well.
5. Spread flour over the water with wooden spoon and cover the vassal with dish.
6. After 10 mins open the vessel and take wooden spoon and stirring continuously in same direction.
7. Mix well up to all water and flour showing like a dough.
8. Make round shape dough and put it into cooker for 10 mins.
9. Add the oil and chopped coriander or red chili powder and mix well.
10. Serve hot.
