Paneer Bhurji Recipe

A tasty version of stir-fried eggs, Paneer Bhurjee is a north indian paneer dish. It also makes a quick and easy dinner dish which serve with hot Chapatis, naan, roti and rice.

Ingredients

1/2 lbs fresh grated paneer
1 chopped onion
1 chopped tomato
1 chopped green chilli
1 shredded capsicum
1/2 tsp grated garlic
1/2 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida
2 tbsps oil/ghee
3 tbsp milk
1/2 tbsp butter
1 tsp lemon juice
Chopped fresh coriander leaves
Salt to taste



Method

1. Heat the oil/ghee in a pan on a medium flame, till hot and add the cumin seeds and fry till it crackles add asafoetida.
2. Add the onions,ginger, garlic and fry till soft. Now add the green chillies,capsicum and tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes are pulpy.
3. Add all the powdered spices and mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add grated paneer and milk and mix well and cook for 2 more minutes, cook till the water has dried up.
5. Add butter, lemon juice and mix it well.
5. Garnish with the chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
