Gujarati Kadhi is a little sweet version of Kadhi serving with Plain Rice or Jeera Rice. If you are fan of curd than Kadhi is best option instead of Gujarati Dal.
Ingredients
2 tbsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
2 cups curds
2 cups water
1.5 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1/2 tsp garlic paste
2 curry leaves
1 tbsp jaggery
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp ghee
salt to taste
Method
1. Beat the curd and add water, besan and salt and mix it well.
2. Boil the curd mixture on slow heat and stir constinuosly into kadai. Add the ginger chilli paste, jaggery and stirring for a while.
3. Heat the ghee in to small pan and add cumin seeds and let them crackle once it crackle add asafoetida, curry leaves and garlic paste.
4. Add the tempering to the kadhi and boil for a 5-10 minutes.
5. Garnish with corainder leaves and serve hot with rice.
