Lauki Paratha(Dudhi Theplas) Recipe




One such healthy and favourite snack among Gujarati's are ''Theplas'' a form of Parathas.It can be served as morning or afternoon snacks and can be accompanied with any Sabji (vegetables) or gravy for lunch and dinner. Dudhina Thepla are soft compared to other theplas or parathas. Theplas are best dish while traveling a long distance journey in Train.

Ingredients

2 cups grated bottle gourd (lauki/ghia/dudhi)
2 cups wheat flour
1 tbsp pearl millet flour
1 tsp jaggery
2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp curd
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp oil
water to need
salt to taste

Method

1. Heat 1 cup water into small pan and add jaggery, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix it well.
2. Mix the mixure of water with grated bottle gourd, wheat flour, pearl millet flour, curd, ginger-garlic paste and mix it well.
3. Now add half of the oil and little water to knead the soft .
4. Now make small balls from dough and roll them softly in round shape like roti.
5. Place it onto a heated skillet/tava lightly greased with some oil and cook it till the theplas turn golden brown.
6. Serve Lauki Paratha(Dudhi Theplas) with Chundo, Pickle, Tea or Curd.
