Sev Khamani is very popular snacks or farsan for gujaratis. You can also make Sev Khamani from break the khaman as chura and tempering it ans serve it.
Ingredients
2 cups chana dal
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp asafoedita
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp oil
Sev(Namkin) for garnishing
pomegranate for garnishing
chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
1. Soak Chana dal for 3 - 4 hours. Drain the chana dal and crush it coarsely and make sure that the dal is not crushed very fine. add water if needed while grinding.
2. Heat oil in a deep pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds once the seeds starts sparkling add asafoedita and garlic-ginger paste and green chilli paste and saute for a minute.
3. Add grinded chana dal and mix it well.
4. Add salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice and cook the chana dal till oil seperates from it.
5. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves, Sev and pomegranate and serve it.
