Shahi Paneer Recipe

Shahi Paneer is a one of the creamy and Spicy Paneer dish. It is popular in northern India and originated from the Mughlai cuisine.

Ingredients

3 cups paneer
2 medium onions
1 small piece of ginger
3-4 garlic pieces
2 green chillies
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
3/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
3-4 tbsp cream
1/4 cup cashew nuts
1 tbsp melon seeds (Kharbooje ke Beej)
8-10 tbsp oil/ghee
salt to taste

Method

1. Heat oil/ghee in a kadhai or pan.
2. Cut paneer into small cubes and fry over medium heat until light brown and keep it aside.
3. Make fine paste of cashew nuts, melon seeds and keep the some dry fruits for decorating.
4. Grind onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli in a blender and make a fine paste.
5. Fry this paste in oil.
6. Now add tomato puree until golden brown and oil starts separating.
7. Add salt, red chilli powder, white pepper, turmeric powder, garam masala and saute for 1-2 minutes.
8. Add cream to make the gravy and cook the gravy on medium heat and until the gravy becomes thick.
9. Finally add paneer cubes and cook for 5 minutes.
10. Garnish shahi paneer with cream and dry fruits and coriander leaves and serve it.
