Gulkand Sponge Cake

This recipe is for the ones who are sweet rosy lovers. Gulkand is basically a sweet preserve made out of rose petals.Gulkand Sponge Cake is very soft and yummy.

Ingredients

2 tsp maida
4 tsp gulkand
2 tsp ghee
4 eggs
4-5 drops rose essence
1 cup sugar
2 tsp water
1/2 tsp baking powder

Method

1. First beat white portion of eggs and yellow portion separately.
2. Mix Maida, Sugar, Oil in a seperate bowl.
3. Now add beated white portion of eggs then yellow portion of eggs and mix it well.
4. Now add water, rose essence, gulkand, baking powder.
5. Beat the mixture for 10 mins in a unidirection (only in one direction i.e. clockwise or anticlockwise).
6. Grease the baking bowl with ghee properly.
7. Add the mixture in bowl and spread it well.
8. Now Bake the mixture in cooker for 1 hr 10 mins.(first 15 mins on high flame then low flame for the rest of time) or Heat at 250'c for 30 mins.
