Vegetable Chow Chow

Having believed to be originated from the China, this chienese recipe of chopped vegetables and noodles with great sausages is relished by all. Since the winter is upcoming, people do preserve the vegetables in the refrigerator to savour various items. Vegetable Chow-Chow is a spicy recipe made in most of Indian kitchens which is a mixture of both American style cooked noodles and chow-chow vegetables to make it delicious dish for evening. Chow-chow is also termed as piccalilli is made by canning the vegetables with different seasonings.

Ingredients

1/2 cup cucumber
1 cup boiled noodles
1/2 cup cabbage
1/2 cup cauliflower
1 cup french beans
2 spring onions
3 onions
2 capsicum
2 carrots
2 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp ajinomoto
2 tbsp corn flour
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp chilli sauce
2 tbsp soya sauce
2 cup water
salt to taste

Method

1. Cut all the vegetables into long thin strips.
2. Heat the oil thoroughly in a vessel and add vegetables, salt and ajinomoto and cook it for 10 mins.
3. Add the corn flour and water to boil it well.
4. Add noodles, vinegar, chilli sauce and soya sauce and cook it for 5 mins on a low flame.
5. Remove from flame and serve it hot.
